Comment:

About twelve years ago, my former roommate and I conceived of a raucous band entitled "Butthole Smack". We imagined the kind of tunes they would play, etc. They never did come into existence, however. The first time I heard the song Hashpipe, I thought, hey, that's what Butthole Smack would have sounded like. I then got the bright idea to create a "tribute album" of songs that could have been done by our imaginary band. So the premise is that these songs are "covers" of Butthole Smack songs. I plan to give this to my former roommate as a gift. I'm sure he's forgotten all about our imaginiary band by now, but I know he will love this, because he likes loud, rockin' bands. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the band that never was... Butthole Smack!

This looks great! Not bad for a made up band. I once had an imaginary band called Chihuaua Death Squad. Sadly they broke up before anything was released! ;)

Dig the high concept. My fake band was The Chrome Plated Megafucks of Destiny. Once again, I'm stumped on my contribution. Gotta be regional faves The Poster Children, right?

This looks absolutely awesome. Great idea. I'd love a copy of this sometime. I have an idea what my contribution to this mix was and I'm kinda embarrassed. ;-)

Ha! Great premise lady de los bugs! I especially love the Dandy's/Supergrass contributions to the cover tribute....remember: "...in the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is often useful." Viva Butthole Smack! (I'm with Curtis on the list..)

yes, lo-fi, you contributed the Poster Children and one of the Mooney Suzuki tracks. Rob: I'll never tell! ;) I'll take note of mailing list requests and pass them along to the band.
