Comment:
I work part time at an after school program for Kindergarten - 5th grade kids. I was driving to work one day, listening to the French Kicks' One Time Bells, when "Crying Just For Show" came on. It made me think of a particular girl at my center. So, I was bored and tired of all of my mixes being either about girls or angst, and I decided to give this a shot. Of course, so many songs are about either girls or angst, I just kind of went by titles. Most of the titles are obvious. The Jonathan Richman song makes me think of this little girl at work who used to always follow instructions, but she started talking back and not doing what she is told. But just like Jonathan likes his girl tough, I have to admire the little kid's newfound spunk, frustrating as it is. Note: I definitely don't suggest beating on brats when they get out of line!Feedback:
This looks wonderful Lex. Nice choices all around.
This is cool. ^_^ In my school I watch over a third grade class when there's an emergency faculty meeting and some of the songs remind me of the kids in that class.
kick ass mix, very deserving of mix of the week. props.
Wow, I feel honored. Thanks for the nice words and for picking my mix!
no prob, lex. you deserve it!
congrats to a good mix
Great mix! Lots of good selections. I miss GBV's "Gold Star for Robot Boy," a song seemingly written by Robert Pollard about his previous life as an elementary school teacher.
Congrats Lex. Again, great mix.
i work with teenagers. i actually DO suggest beating them when they don't behave.
This is a cool mix. Sorry I missed it.
Really wonderful! Makes me want to eat graham crackers and take a nap. Sorry I missed it the first time around.
This is a lovely idea, and a very cool mix! Props for including The Flying Burrito Bros. Congratulations!
Congrats, a really interesting mix.
Congrats on mix of the week. Reminds me of my old job.

HAHAHAHAH! Beat on the brat! Oh my.
y'know, a wooden spoon DOES do the job, sometimes.
Great mix Lex! Every song is amazing!
Hi Lex, I was wondering if you have mailed out a copy of this cd for me yet. Its been a while and I haven't gotten anything, so I thought I'd check.
