Comment:

that time of year again - the record fair at the raffles hotel. apparently they want to knock the old hotel down and build a high rise monstrosity (as it's next to the swan river and a great location), but, for now, the record fair remains at raffles. so this mix here represents a good majority of my purchases. the first side and up to track 5 on side 2 represent purchases i made from kim, before the fair - he showed me what he was selling (in the luxury of his living room) and i was able to make my selections before anyone else. it helps having a boyfriend who used to own a record shop! most of the stuff he sold to me was part of the excess stock from the shop. of course, he gave me an incredible discount. on side 1, tracks 1-6 are old perth bands and tracks 2-5 had records/singles released on the same label - easter records - run by kim and a guy (rob?) from dadas.

Another nice one Sue. Aren't you glad your boyfriend is an ex-record store owner and not an ex-pet store owner? Like your Bird Nest Roys, Grass Roots, Zumpano & Husker Du picks.

Ooops! The Ups & Downs . . . one of my fave 80s bands. Whatever became of them? Do you by any chance have any info on The Deadly Hume? Cool mix, BTW. Wish you'd made it on CD . . . :)

It's funny how you can look at a mix and not recognise most of the songs, but you still know it's great. I really like your Husker Du pick -- one of my favourites.
