Comment:
Mix for Mo Twang, that was arranged about 6 months ago, I think. Thanks to my neighbor, Jane, for coming by with her daughter, Cleo, so that Cleo could play with my daughter Xuxu, at Cleo's house. Which gave me a few hours of unexpected free time. So what else do you do with a few hours of unexpected free time? Make a mix, of course. Mo had told me he likes Paul Kelly, but, as I don't actually own any Paul Kelly anymore (the ex has it all), he said that he wouldn't mind hearing artists that are similar to Paul. Well, I don't actually have many that are - the only two I could think of are Nick Barker and Mick Thomas (of WPA), so I included both of those. But then I found a Paul Kelly song that I had forgotten about, so I included that as well. If you couldn't tell by the list of artists, this is another all Australian mix - not really done on purpose (although it's fitting, as a tribute, considering what happened in Bali this weekend), but the first 15 or so cds I picked up were by Aussie artists, so I decided to keep it like that. What I know I like, especially the Triffids.
i was beginning to wonder when i'd see a normal mix
sounds wonderful!
fantastical sue!! great title too. drinking sans dancing is crappy. that whole bali things a bit awful...no doubt we'll be chasing after dubya now to get some heads rolling. sucky that the ex got all the paul kelly- you should steal it back. great mix...luckies, dazza, soadstream, triffids, augie march, paul...lots of my favourites!
Can't wait to hear it, Sue!
Looks good to me...
Mo's a lucky-and worthy-man! Good job Sue! (Gather up some commandos for a "raid on the ex's place"...,take by stealth what is rightfully yours.) The "Rightful Records Returners" brigade....or some such....pageantry!
Actually I'd like to see what happens when you dance but don't drink, since I don't think I've ever danced when I was sober! ;) Looks great Sue! And let me give a shout out to your babysitter. I'm sure Xuxu can be a handfull at times -- the cute ones always are!
I probably will get some of the cds back - or, at least, burned copies - I have some stuff that I know he wants as well - so we'll probably work out an arrangement; that is, as soon as I can afford to buy a burner and computer!
When will you FINALLY upgrade to CD . . .? :-)
Thomas - as soon as I sell my house! (and close, get the money, etc.) Who knows when that'll be - apparently, even though the house is only 5 years old, in a great, sought-after suburb, located in a cul-de-sac (at the end of a dead-end road), people seem to be turned off by the fact that it's next to a fairly busy road - and have an impression that it gets noisy - which it does not.
This is a great mix, even though it wouldn't reminfd me that much of PK. a great aust mix, with a great title. still are always good for a few drunken references
