Comment:

mix for jana. she wanted to hear some 60s stuff - hence the first 7 tracks on side 1; aussie stuff - hence tracks 9 on side 1 to track 6 on side 2, and various others mixed in. title courtesy of kim salmon's wife, who coos these sentiments on his song - totally tongue in cheek, of course. thanks to my boyfriend kim, for the bevis frond and another sunny day tracks.

Speaking of the Bevis Frond cover - my daughter (age 4) went around all weekend singing it - even asked me to turn it up and keep playing it! So, what I'm saying, is my daughter going to be laughed at by her friends when she gets older and doesn't like the latest top 40 schmaltz?

oh you know that problem from "about the boy" (a 9 year old kid with Joni Mitchell as favourite artist) it's tough i know but when they start school they usually start to like the same stuff as the aother kids, in good and in bad ways BTW nice mix

i had forgotten about 'about a boy' - although, in her case, the artists she likes are as follows - belle & sebastian, the lucksmiths, and jack & the beanstalk (at least those are the one's she can name when she hears the music). but, her father likes some of the top 40 schmaltz, so she probably hears it when she stays with him.

Looks like another wonderful mix Sue. Love all the 60s acts, as well as the Dentists and Tommy Keene. Hopefully the highly influencial Xuxu will turn her classmates onto Belle & Sebastian and the Lucksmiths. Do they make B&S t-shirts in her size? P.S. Haven't forgotten about my obligation. Should be done before the wedding! Two weeks away!
