Comment:

XMAS 1996: Again, I always like starting off a tape with a little nonsensical spoken banter at the beginning - and then busting into an aggro/dancy hit. (Zombie, NIN, & M. Manson always seem to fill this bill well). This was the year that I was fully engulfed in making LUSTER. Those few days shooting at No-Life Records introduced me to a bunch of new bands and labels. I think I first got Air Miami, and that turned me onto the whole Teenbeat records thing. Also odd things like the 'Mod Fuck Explosion' Soundtrack. I was also in the preliminary stages of planning for new music to put in the Luster soundtrack, so bands like Action Plus, Bunnygrunt, & Third Grade Teacher started to become important to me for a few different reasons. (one of which is that they are cheap and available!) Also, its fun when you discover an old song, in this case, David Bowie's "Heroes". What a great song, I really don't know if I had ever hear it before that year. Pansy Division's Track # Zero was a hilarious secret track. Jon Ginoli told me that is a game they play while on the road - linking together the names of bands and artists I edited it a bit to highlight my faces like "Mylifewiththethrillkillkultureclubneuveau".
