It always happens doesn't it. Your favourite band releases a best of. album and you find yourself saying "I can't believe they left (insert song name) off. Best thing they ever did, that." While the official EIG best of; `Voice' is an amazing collection that lasts over 70 minutes, I decided to collect some more personal favourites together that weren't included on that album, and create a second part.
Originally I wanted to cover their whole career, bringing the collection right up to the last album, but there was just too much stuff, so it spilled onto another disc. I'll post the track listing for that another time but for now, this is my selection of songs from the 1980 to 1986 period.
I know from reading reviews elsewhere that a couple of my choices might be a bit ontroversial, namely `Early empty lanes' and `New love here', but I love their poppier moments, and songs like these, and `No perfect stranger' display a healthy versatility.
Their less catchy but more heart rendingly emotional side is also displayed, at best for me in songs like `Fever pitch and bite' and `Still air'

Hmmmm, I remember having a double LP by them. As I recall, each side sounded like a different band. Should dig it out. Some of the moodier stuff was actually quite good.
