Xmas 2002 Sampler: This year's Xmas tape seems pretty mellow. There is a lack of the usual bang-bang industrial music. I wouldn't want my samplers to turn into some sort of adult-alternative singer/songwriter bullshit! Oh well, I guess I will happen to all of us at some point. The retro hit this year is XTC. They were playing it at Trader Joe's one day and it just sounded so much fresher than anything on the radio lately. The only current radio hit that could allow myself to include was The Hives. It's big with the kids. Maybe a kid will listen to this? I'm not going to say something rash like, "Rock Is Dead", but it sure seems to be in a pickle! I mean. Geez!. They had a 90's weekend on KROQ month or so ago and Pearl Jam started to sound halfway decent! Britney Spears and the boy bands aren't the enemy - - Ozzy Osbourne's children and Hot Topic stores are the enemy! Courtney Love is still a murderer, but at least she has taste. That is more than I can say for most music outlets recently. Christ! I can't even talk about it anymore. I hope you have a nice Xmas and enjoy this collection.
