Comment:

mix for valis. he was intrigued by the comments on the alternating dj mix i did with ion moe (w. aussie vs west coast) regarding the rainyard ("janglophile pop genius"). so i made him a mix with a couple of rainyard picks as well as some other stuff i'd thought he'd like. he said he liked "jangly pop, buoyant harmonies, instrumental wizardry", etc. he also requested the 60s band the twilights, from adelaide, so i included them as well. all of these artists are aussie, except for bobby sutliff. i'd also like to thank valis once again for typing out, in it's entirety, the essay on david snyder's ("the bob jr") visit to australia last year. also, now that i'm jobless (as of this arvo), i'll only have access to the internet/email sporadically(e.g. visits to internet cafes), until i can afford to buy a computer, or find a job where i can sneak peaks on the net. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!! (and let's hope that '03 goes better for me, personally).

good work, Sue. Another tribute to the legend that is Valis! The man's head will swell too much to fit through the door. A nicer guy you couldn't meet and a better mix I can't imagine. Happy Christmas Sue!

As much a joy to listen to as the "liner notes" (hand-written, special-like, one-time-only-deal)were to read. The lady knows her sh*t when it comes to Aussie bands, and the Perth scenesters knows she's cool, tres cool! The Tim Oxley was beauty, as was the omnipresent Michael Carpenter..., a stellar bag full o' goodies. THANK YOU SUE!

The Rainyard didn't "pop out" at me during the initial listen......plan to give it "Spin numero dos" next week.....I shall reevaluate and keep thee posted.
