Comment:

My brother has a thing about old Cadillacs. I don't quite get it, to me cars are mainly transportation - but from musical history I hear that at one time Cadillacs represented the quintessence of luxury, success, making it - the American dream on wheels. And there must be more songs about Cadillacs than about all other makes of cars combined - there are Cadillac songs by Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Springsteen of course -- & that classic Johnny Cash song "One Piece at a Time" is about a psychobilly Cadillac -- & plenty more - but anyway, here, for my brother the classic car afficionado, is a musical tribute to the day when Cadillac was king.

I love the Kinks' cover of Cadillac - that was always my fave. You're right, though - there are SO many that it's hard to narrow it down. These are all great, of course.

Cars JUST transportation?!?!Blasphemer! Thats o.k. I forgive you for making such an awesome mix. Your brother will love it. Its a shame that now caddys look the same as every other car on the road.

This looks excellent! Who knew (besides you of course) that there are so many Cadillac songs. I think I'll do an all-Toyota mix. Let's see there's... actually I'll get back to you on that one.

Looks like a muscle mix to me. Great theme . . . with enough material for another twenty vols., feat. artists from Benny Andersson & the Hep Cats (the nucleus of Abba) to ZZ & the Maskers (Dutch 60s beat). Er, am I being smart-aleck again? ;)
