Comment:

Someone asked me to make a party mix for them, so here it is in absolute condensed form. Below are explanatons for all songs as they relate to the evening -
1. 5pm. Nothing to do, lazy, hanging around.
2. 6pm - "Let's All Meet Up and Have a Party". is remarked. It begins...
3. 7pm - Stealing Beer from Smiths.
4. 8pm - The most important stuff has been taken care of (see song title), and people are being called.
5. 9pm - People begin to come.. In droves.
6. 10pm - The One person you didn't want to invite somehow walks in the door, wasted, walks up to you and throws up on your silk shirt.
7. 11pm - People start getting into the mood
8. 12am - Full swing, the bit where everyone is sober enough to have fun
9. 1am - Some people are away.. getting busy... everyone else start playing games.
10. 2am - Slowing down a bit, but some people will never let a good party die.
11. 3am - The drunks emerge and cause much comedy/heartache.
12. 4am - Sitting Outside on the sidewalk, a grand drunken singalong begins.
13. 5am - The sing-a-long concludes with the biggest song ever, and all singers proceed to pass out in various areas of the garden.
14. 6am - Everyone's Passed out or sleeping. or both.
15. 7am - Wake Up. Locked Out. Everyone else still passed out. Story of My Life...
16. 8am - Slowly, Images of the Previous night permeate into the head...
17. 9am - Dude, how do I explain the damage to my parents. At least you guys will help me clean up... right??? Guys?? Another Party Over.
Hopefully the music is also right to just play at a party anyway...

Superb! I tried to do this once with a Summer Mix (i.e. a typical summer's day). I failed miserably. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

Clever and obscure and probably very well received by the recipient. The Clash - Ben Kweller - Less Than Jake trio works well, I;d say. No Queen, though... too obvious.

This is very, very cool. I can relate to most of this.
