Comment:

This one's going out to Elisa Rocket. The theme I was kind of going with was part "likable songs by likable artists, that I thought she would like based on what I saw of her mixes", and part just stuff I'm listening to at this time. I bet you can tell which is which. I have a question though, that no one I know seems to be able to answer. On "Luckiest Guy..." what's that instrument that makes that "squishy" sound, for lack of a better word. It's keeping time too, but I can't tell what it is. One person thought it was the snare, but I can hear that too, so unless there are two snares with some sort of effect being used on the second one, I don't think that's it. So if you know, please enlighten me.

Nothing to complain about here. Love the Costello, Lips and Stevie Wonder picks especially.

Great stuff, Adam. I especially dig the Wilco, Waits, Costello and Pavement tracks. CRCR has been in heavy rotation around the Porter house these days.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I've been playing that one quite a bit too, Shawn. "Slanted and Enchanted" was always my favorite, but I'm really starting to dig this one. The one I haven't heard is "Brighten the Corners", but people don't seem to be too high on that one, so it's not much of a priority.

"Like" it! As I recall, that Hackamore Brick LP was a pretty good early VU sound-alike. Is it available on disc or did someone transfer it for you?

I got "One Kiss Leads to Another" on disc as a bonus when I got the Peter Laughner disc a while back. As you said, it is pretty good, and was very definitely influenced by Lou and the gang. I was unable to get to the post office today, so I could toss it in with the rest of your stuff tomorrow, if you like.

Wilco and Pavement are just about the only bummers here. And I dunno what I did, suddenly the Sweet keep croppin' up all over the place . . . ;)

This seems like a pretty sweet swuite of songs, if you ask me. I don't get the criticism of Wilco, are they just too poppy or something? I must say I'm shocked by your call to title it as such and not have anything by one of my recent favorites, Laughner. Just a thought... good job, you'll have to share this with me next we meet...
