Comment:

In retrospect, I shouldn't have started with "Everlasting Arm". It's a great song, but if that just disappeared the mix would flow very nicely. That opening transition is kinda choppy though. Oh well, it's already burned. This kind of has a country-ish feel to it...maybe more of an "aftertaste" than a "feel"; it's not flat-out country, but is more around-the-edges country. Also, "If Only You Were Lonely" is now going the way of "Hallelujah". I can no longer trust myself to use it appropriately (though it works here) and so it must be retired. I swear "Hallelujah" was on the first ten mixes I made as gifts for people. Anyhow, title is from the Bash and Pop tune.

I don't approve of putting Gin Blossoms covers on mixes

Nice mix. "Hallelujah" is a dangerous song, I've put it on a few too many mixes in my day and I think I forgot the purpose of it in doing so. But this flows really well, and it's got a nice enough range of styles.. I like.

Good stuff, Adam. I especially dig the Freakwater and 'Mats tunes and the Caitlin Cary->Bash and Pop stretch there at the end.

Thanks for the comments all, and I agree Shawn. I think that last little run of songs is my favorite on any of my mixes. It's very sad, but beautiful. And after a few listens that opening transition isn't as bad as I made it out to be. It doesn't have the same rhythym as the rest of the mix, but it isn't jarring or anything.

Oh, this is lovely.

I need to know: are you in possession of a recording of Mercury Rev's "Carwash Hair"?

I'll gladly pay you Tuesday...

Oh, and Caitlin Cary played here Friday night, and she and her voice are the loveliest.

Well that depends how you mean. I have "Yerself is Steam" which has "Carwash Hair" on it, but they released it as their debut single, so if you're referring to the single as a package, no I don't have that. And I seem to have not noticed Alexandria's comment before...sorry. I haven't heard that cover, no, but it does sound interesting. I like John Cale.
