Comment:
From 2002. Another obsession, another series. Would Prozac help my OCD? Likely not ...If you missed the RHYTHM COUNTRY AND BLUES from MCA back in the last decade, it has some KILLER cuts ...
Songwriting credit for track 1 is (Ladysmith Black Mambazo).
The rest of the Irma Thomas info is (...The Sound of New Orleans 1947-1974, 1996)
Feedback:
Another wonderful mix! Too many great picks to single out just a few!
My man! You are fast. I have been busy overloading the server with my details. No sooner do I get it worked than ... WAAZOO. thanks for the fast feedback ...
Wonderful. I like it all, but especially love the closing three.
Woo! I love the rain ( it's pouring now, it's so relaxing..) and this is a great mix.
Multi-genre rainy weather! Very nice. A couple of versions of probably my favorite rain song, I Can't Stand the Rain. Also like LBM, the Slims, Irma, and the last 3 as well. (Have you heard the Dylan/Bette Midler duet of Buckets? Lotsa fun!)
This is really nice. That's one of my favourite Dylan tunes.
Cool mix and a good idea.
Hey Sally, you reign! (Get it? Reign, you know... like rain?). Sally? These are super. Rain is so easy to romanticize... My personal fave is "It's raining men". No wait, it's "I wish it would rain" - that song breaks me up inside. Many, many great tunes here.
Very nicely done.
This looks beautiful Sally. I love the Peter Gabriel. But no room for the Beatles?
I CONFESS! I CONFESS! I am ashamed to tell YOU ALL you that I don't have many Beatles CDs in my collection. I felt like I heard them so much that I didn't need to seek them out. But, I have requested access to a genuine Beatlemaniac's collection for subsequent volumes (i am working on the third ...)
Ok, I for sure want to trade with you but sadly I don't know much that is in any of your collection of mixes. But I'd love to trade. Just e-mail me and we'll set it up!
great as always!
I forget which classic-rock band does it, but the song "Who'll Stop The Rain" would be a good choice for the last track if you make a volume 2. This is a nice mix...I especially like the Peter Gabriel, Bob Dylan and Whiskeytown inclusions. Great work as always.
