[This is currently a work in progress] It all begin one night when someone mentioned the song "Mr. Jones" by the Counting Crows & instantly I thought of the line: "We all want something beautiful, yeah, I wish I was beautiful." And that is how this mix was born, from a chance word, a chance mention of a song with so many memories for me. Partially as an apology to all those I haven't made tapes for recently & partially because I believe it's something we all feel... "We all want something beautiful." This is a tape not made for me or any other one specific person, but a mix for all of us, that in the end, will be given to each & every one of my friends, even tho' I know that some won't appreciate it & some won't even play it more than twice, but I can hope that they all want something beautiful, and that maybe this mix can give a bit of beauty or hope or faith to them & that maybe we can live in a peaceful world & that maybe, one day, I can be beautiful too.Feedback:
that's so sweet! I wish a had a friend that was so nice as to make me a copy of what will be such a wonderful mix. :) (maybe I'll have to just do it for myself!) I know that I have songs to suggest for this, but my only thought right now is Fast Car by Tracy Chapman. All about finding a new life. Maybe also I Will Buy You a New Life by Everclear, but that's kind of more love, so I'm not sure... but I'd definitly put Fast Car on there.
Thank you so much for the suggestions :D I love Tracy Chapman but actually don't have any of her CD's :/ There's a Cure song I'd like to include on Side B but this mix is developing so strangely... I started with the last two tracks for each side & worked from there & getting it to flow while trying to sort things out backwards is so strange, at least for me. But I think the mix is turning out beautifully & at least for me, it's capturing that bizarre mood swing between feelings of beauty & lust & love & self-hatred & longing that we all go through that is so often undescribed in words.

Wow... I bet My Stupid Mouth transitions really well to Silent All These Years. Why didn't I think of that? Major props. Suggestions that come to mind (for me at least) are R.E.M.'s Near Wild Heaven, Sarah McLachlan's sung version of the Prayer of St. Francis (and I'm not even religious!), and Any World by Steely Dan.
