Comment:

Originally compiled June 2001 for an Indiepop Swap. Episode IV was the previous name for indie janglemeisters East Village. Guitarist Paul Kelly would later cofound Birdie. The Aluminum Group tune is a cover of an early Tracey Thorn (Everything But the Girl) song. The BMX Bandits do a great cover of Galaxie 500's Tugboat. Lots of other great stuff including Posie's Ken Stringfellow on lead vox for the Orange Humble Band track. Title pulled from the Bill Nelson ambient sound collage track.

Just discovered this wonderful mix. I certainly hope it's not your last. I'm still interested in getting your Sarah mixes one of these days.

I like this archive mix thing that valis is doing - means we can all see great mixes, like this one, that we might have otherwise missed! This is wonderful - I've never heard the BMX Bandits track but I'd love to. Lovely cover art too.

I just clued into the fact that this was picked for archive mix of the week. Thanks very much for that. This has proven to be a very popular mix for people I have given it to. I actually reused a couple tracks from it (a couple of jangly pop numbers from Sarah records) for my latest SOTT18 mix so they could get a little more distribution. If anyone would like to trade for it, just let me know. Cheers!

Congrats on the archive MOTW! Do you still have copies of the Sarah mixes? I'd still love to trade for them, and perhaps this one as well. Please check my archives to see if you find anything you like.
