This tape started out as an excuse to use "Madeleine-Mary" and that Beach Boys song. The Tiny Tim song is a baritone rendition (with his wife) of a Cole Porter song which nicely toes the line between prettiness and creepiness. It's offputting, but its near-total lack of irony is in some ways commendable. Were it not for time constraints, I would have used Bowie's "Velvet Goldmine" and Wilco's "Poor Places" on side B.

this mix is really great. it flows preternaturally, etc. and i'm not just saying that, either. partic. in limbo ->mr. wilson->old master painter
