Comment:
O.k., Here's the rockabilly mix I should have made ages ago. Inspired partly by the recent passing of two Uncles I was close to and the collection of cool family photos I've aquired. Country and Rockabilly have always been a family tradition, and it's my favorite music, so this series is dedicated to all the trouble makers and shit disturbers past and present in my clan of northern hillbillies. That's Uncle Fred in the picture, shortly before he set off for British Columbia, where he didn't return from for thirty years, leaving behind something like three ex-wives and an array of children. Fred passed away with the big C last year and I miss him alot.Cheers Fred! Thanks to Sean Lally, Franklin Onn, Joey De Vivre, and eric Schmuckler for enriching my collection.
Feedback:
awesome looking mix and cool story. (the pic could use a bit of a trim as it's kinda large)
Very nice - I'm sure your uncles would be proud.
Looks great!
Totally great, and I love 'dem Collins Kids. By the way, I sent a couple o' discs your way. Hope you dig them deeply. Keep one of these alive for me. Great closing track, too! Your uncle looks like a cooler Matt Dillon.
I'm sure Uncle Fred is digging this mix right now.
I love it!!! I agree with Sean, Uncle Fred does look alot like Matt Dillon. I'm sorry he's passed on, but his inspiration endures. Action-packed rockabilly! Yahooooo!!
Holy shit! This is a smokin' mix, boy! Makes me wanna throw back some JD an' go kick some cop cars... Any chance a hell-gally could get a copy?
This is beautiful.
Awesome.
wonderful tribute to your uncle!
in my teens i had a pompadour that would poke yer eyes out. everyone thought it was a morrissey thing but it was really more of an Elvis, E Cochran, G Vincent thing! Big big rockabilly fan! Excellent mix!
A very cool tribute to your cool uncle. May he rock to this in heaven.
