Comment:
Mix for Pete, who, people say, just gave up the best gig in town - co-presenting the morning breakfast radio show on community station rtr-fm. But there's not many people who can put up with having to go to bed when it's still light out and get up when it's dark, plus the fact that it means you can't even go out to see bands that the station promotes (unless it's not on a weeknight). Anyway, a while back, I had a conversation with Pete (one of many) and the topic was music, natch. We spoke about our music collections, and I think he was a little impressed with mine - I don't think it's anything special, but I named a lot of bands that he had never heard of. So I suggested that I make him a mix, and this is it. I just went with stuff I thought he'd like. I'm sure there's more than a few that he'll know, for example the "fannies" as they played in Perth last week (as part of an all-day outdoor event - Badly Drawn Boy were the headliner, but Teenage Fanclub were the draw for most, I think), and Pete was there.I put on Slowdive and Mojave 3, as, when Neil Halstead came to town in December, I had won free passes to see him (courtesy of rtr), and had gone into the station to collect them. Whilst there, Pete came out of the studio, and asked me to go on air and talk about Neil and his career (as he knew that *I* knew more about him that himself and his co-presenter). I passed, but told him what I knew, and he used it on air shortly thereafter. Seeing that I don't think he owns any Slowdive or Mojave 3, it's included here. Thanks to Kim, for KOLS (from the "insound tour support" release,) and Rob Conroy for the Posies.

Hey, at least I get to be the first to comment on this one... Anyway, this looks simply wonderful Sue. You already know that I love the Left Banke, Love and Hang Ups. You're definitely putting that burner to good use!
If I hadn't seen that this was a mix of yours, I sure would have guessed it. Great.
nice work sue, mr barr is a top chap
Slowdive and Mojave 3 are awesome. I really can't imagine having to go ot bed before dusk to get up really early all hte time. To quote Morphine: "I think it's worth it for you to stay awake, maybe tomorrow you'll be a little late."
Looks good Sue
The KOLS and Hang Ups tracks are great.Love the Todd Rundgren pick as well.Nice mix.
once upon a time my band supported Slowdive here in my hometown (GSvle) and they were nice people, this looks good as usual Sue.
Some great pop grooves here. Had my own brush with Slowdive at Reckless Records the day after catching an amazing set by them. Nice folks, indeed.
very cool, Sue. especially love the MMJ->Posies->TFC sequence.
Nice work Sue, and thanks. Yer right, there's much here I criminally don't know, and look forward to being further educated. And now I sleep...
This has some of my absolute favorite mix-tape fodder, namely Johhny and "Say Yes". Great mix, up and down.
fabulous
Another great mix, Sue. It's fun catching up on all these mixes I missed the past few months.
