Comment:

This is actually a commissioned mix--it will be the soundtrack to a retirement party where I work this Friday evening. I actually won't be at the party, since I'm taking the kids to meet up with their mom, who will be in D.C. on a business trip (hmmm...that must mean--road trip mix time!), but hopefully I'll find out Monday how the mix went over. A few of the songs are supposedly personal favorites of the retiree, such as, oddly enough, both "Don't Worry, Be Happy" and "Walk On The Wild Side" (now there's a juxtaposition for you). The rest is based on the types of music I've heard he likes (reggae, jazz, 60s rock, etc.) "Penny Lane" is here because my 9-month-old is currently digging it, and I was holding him when I was burning that part of the CD. The Ry Cooder/Manuel Galban CD is a lot of fun, by the way!

Great stuff here! "Don't Worry Be Happy" is both annoying and amazing because Bobby McFerrin is intensly talented.

Except for "Don't Worry", I can't complain about any of these. Looks to be a fun party.
