Comment:

An all-aussie mix, made to catch up on trades with people who wanted to hear my selection of aussie music. Most of this is guitar pop, except for the few punkish selections, like the Hard Ons and the Scientists - both tracks come from the excellent new compilation: "tales from the australian underground, singles 1976-1989" a 2 cd set. Title courtesy of Even as We Speak, who's ep (the first, self titled one, before they were signed to Sarah Records) I picked up yesterday for 2 bucks at the RTR-fm record library sale. I also got the Garden Path lp (I think they were from Adelaide) as well as about 15 others - total amount spent: $31! And all were in pristine condition, which makes them an even better deal.

Cool find on the Even As We Speak. Would like to hear that someday. Also, cool that you included The Garden Path. I maintain a page about them with samples from all three albums. We'll have to work a trade...I think we dig the same stuff. Regards, Brent

hey, thanks for your mix, i've been listening to it all afternoon. apart from the songs i already knew (amnesia, i left my heart all over the place), i'm really digging the hard ons & scientists tracks, which is funny coz i'm not known for my taste in punk. also died pretty, the mandelbrot set & of course the Tucker Bs. don walker & charlie owen collaborated with tex perkins on an album called sad but true in 1993. it's one of my dad's i'll have to admitt. a damn fine record that i grew up listening to. i don't suppose you have a scanner? only i don't, and i'd like to post a picture of the cover i made for your mix. i'll send it to you tomorrow. hope you like it!
