Comment:

Made for Dave, March of 2003. Nothing but mid-to-late-80s thrash, from start to finish. Pure fucking armageddon for the current armageddon. NOTES: 1) The title of the Voivod track was inspired by a contractual conflict between Metal Blade Records and the band. 2) No Mercy was a Suicidal Tendencies thrash side project with Mike Muir on vocals. Suicidal Tendencies later covered a few of the No Mercy songs on the "Controlled by Hatred / Feel Like Shit...Deja Vu" lp. 3) Blood Feast was named, of course, after the amazing Herschell Gordon Lewis 1960s gore movie. They were from New Jersey. 4) The Sepultura track is off their 1985 "Bestial Devastation" ep. 5) Onslaught and Sacrilege both released material on Pushead's Pusmort label. Onslaught has the old singer from Grim Reaper on vocals. 6) Slaughter is the Canadian thrash band, not the American "Fly to the Angels" band. 7) Cyclone is allegedly one of the oldest Belgian thrash bands. 8) DTtente has Dawn Crosby (RIP) on vocals, who was earlier in Allies and later in Fear of God. 9) Greg Handevidt from Kublai Khan played guitar in one of the early line-ups of Megadeth (as did Kerry King from Slayer). 10) The big three German thrash bands (Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction) were left out in favor of some of the lesser-known German thrashers (Assassin, Deathrow, Tankard, Protector, Angel Dust). 11) The bassist and drummer in Blessed Death are identical twins. The track title refers to the pigs in blue, not the pigs in pink. 12) The guitarist of Viking went on to play guitar for Dark Angel. 13) One of the former drummers for Whiplash, Joe, played drums for Kreator for a while. 14) The Mayhem track is from the 1987 Deathcrush lp. 15) Fuck George Bush.
