This was made without any real understanding of the classic soul/R&B era. As much as I wish I could say I grew up listening to Steven Malkmus and Chan Marshall records, I was raised on my dad's R&B tapes. Tower of Power was an essential part of my childhood, but I wanted to go further. I made this with what I think the old school Motown sound is in mind. I apologize if these artists are inappropriately credited, or if the titles are incorrect. Great.Feedback:
This is great. Dad taught you well. Why not throw in something by Edwin Starr, who unfortunately died Wednesday at age 61.
