Put this together for my friend George, hoping he'll find this at least vaguely entertaining, if not amusing. Of particular note is Track Two, "Genius", which is by a band destined for much bigger and better things...Find them at www.slambovia.com...Also, Pere Ubu's amazingly confident and masterful recording of "Final Solution", juxtaposed with Ray Charles' "One Mint Julep", gives me the creeps. Dug deep into the archives for the Lucas track, which, IMHO, is one of the truly great pop records of the last 20 years...Really, when you think about it, how many GREAT pop records have we heard in the last 20 years??? Ended it with "Shadow" by The Lurkers, which has such a melancholy enthusiam to it, reminding me very much of "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba...
