KRAFTWERK - "Boing Boom Tschak: An Ambient Collection"
Comment:
The long overdue companion volume to my "Schaufensterpuppen" CD, the focus this time being on some of Kraftwerk's more ambient, less accessible fare. An argument could be made that "Ruckzuck" doesn't really belong here, as it was made prior to the band becoming synth-heads, and that "Expo 2000" should have been presented in its original format, but I like both of the songs in question so much that I decided to sally forth. "Ruckzuck" is a fascinating glimpse into the early genesis of Kraftwerk (and hey, let's face it, the theme to "Newton's Apple") and works especially well alongside "Trans-Europe Express." I guess I could have put the "Expo" remix on "Schaufensterpuppen" and the regular version on this CD, but "Expo" didn't quite fit the rubric there, and I prefer the remix by a longshot. Oh, same with the "Mix" version of "Music Non Stop," which closed the absolutely incredible Kraftwerk show I saw in 1998. I still can't believe I actually saw them live.
Feedback:
Love "Ruckzuck"....glad it's included! Nice v2 Vinz!
ahh Kraftwerk: bu bopt; bopt - bu - bopt...nice assembly, this !
i saw them live back in 1969 when they were still a hippy band. can't believe it either. your mix is cool!
nice, i'm going to have to check out a few of these, i really like the kraftwerk albums that i have, but, i don't know, when faced with a purchase choice between kraft and someone else, i always wind up with whatever else, its time i did one of these and settled it-again nice picks of whta i do know
