Comment:
A single-CD tribute to the artistry of John Linnell. The man's songs are so consistently good that it's hard to narrow it down to 80 minutes, but here is a sampling of what I consider to be his best work.Feedback:
I like them GIANTS. I've heard most of these but there are some new ones i like too! (thems got lots of cds and i haven't heard it all yet) hurrah! new music for me!
I considered doing this last year (as well as a companion disc of Flans stuff) but never got around to it. Maybe I should. I'm surprised "Dead" isn't here, though.
Yeah, I'm gonna do a Flansburgh one next. Although, of course, I don't think it will be as good. No offense to my man in flannel.
Just browsing through your mixes (if you couldn't tell) This is another great one! Too many great tunes to mention!
Hey... I found this mix because i was looking through the AOTM archive trying to see if my John Flansburgh mix that i just posted was the first of its kind... i didn't find any others but i did find *this* mix, and it looks awesome! i'm surprised even that i don't know all the songs (i've never heard "Welcome to the Jungle" or the House of Mayors songs)... but i'm glad that obscurity is the stock in trade, i'm even okay with my favorite Linnell song, "Dead", being missing. so could i convince you to come out of retirement to make the Flans mix you're promising here...?? Here's my version if you're interested at all, a very different philosophy from yours as you can see....
