Comment:
Combine musical genius, sudden wealth with intense media scrutiny and you can get some very freakish behavior. The original Jackson Five, driven to stardom by megalomaniac father Joseph, was a sensation. They made music that America loved and starred in not just one, but two TV series (a variety hour and a Saturday cartoon). Along the way, the rest of the boys and girls also clamored for some time in the spotlight. In chronological order, here's a quick review of their group and individual efforts. All but Tito went on to record solo -- he (wisely?) chose to play guitar and write behind the scenes. In the end, this didn't end up so much the cheesy parody I planned, but more of an homage to a very talented and ambitious family. My choice for Showdown Champion is Janet, who wins by default because of Mikey's perverse proclivities.
Feedback:
Interesting experiment.
Yes, this does look interesting. How does it play?

Cool mix to *look* at.
I heard somewhere that Janet Jackson's great song "You're So Vain" has been covered by some singer named Carly Simon. Can that be true?
