Comment:

I gave myself two requirements for this mix: every song had to have the name of a city in the title and I had to sequence the mix as I would route a road trip - it had to make sense without too many detours or too much backtracking. Think of this as America at a glance - some major cities, some interesting sights and a lot of highways and byways (geographically as well as musicially) - with no slights intended to those gorgeous metropolitan areas which I had to leave out. Most people only get a certain amount of vacation time for driving - I only had 80 minutes for mixing. I'll get around to you next time. With that said, on to the liner notes: at this velocity, anything can seem like providence on the way into new york, new york - a diner, an abandoned caboose, a shooting star. but then there's the devil in jersey city - holy toledo, i'd rather be racing cincinnati or heading for chickamauga than face it down again. it's raining in athens but i'm atlanta bound, going back to memphis. i had the st. louis blues for a while but replaced them with the fort worth and dallas blues while i sucked on a lucky denver mint. somehow i got the nickname monkey monkey las vegas when i was on a bad roll in reno and kept clearing the lines but after dropping my last $20 to get to portland, i was ready to head south to san francisco and santa cruz, through the hellhole earthquake basin of los angeles, home to golden hill to visit friends and get my head right. and as i sing this san diego serenade, i have to say that even the city jail has style.

Very nicely done. I would love to have one of these. Extra points for picking an ov=sbcure version of St Louis Blues.

Fine work, Puckett. I won't breathe a word. I notice you steer completely clear of B-N. Cheers.

you've got more style than a city jail ever could.
