Comment:
This mix began more as one exploring different elements of nature, but ended up morphing into an exploration of the passage of time. I picked songs that are not static in their timeframe. Instead I used songs that are either explicitly about time, or like the Joni Mitchell song, use change in the physical world to illustrate time passing. The songs I came up with seemed to fit in the mold of a single day, so with a few changes in song selection, I ended up with this. I added in the Bela Fleck "Big Country" and the Talking Heads "The Big Country" to give it a more circular feel. Suggestions are much appreciated. Hope you enjoy!Feedback:
So who is this Joni Mitchell covering that famous tune by Counting Crows? (ha ha just kidding) keep an eye on Bela Fleck; he is about to be huge after years of being a niche banjo specialist. Excellent mix, David.
wow. just wow.
i was going to say "wow" but it's already taken. nice job. i love "big country", it's a wonderful song.
Ahhhh... I just realized that I didn't put "Mr. Blue Sky" by ELO on this. It would have been perfect, and is a great song. I guess I can always try again...
this is a splendid mix. love talking heads, wilco, simon and garf, cat stevens, pink floyd, beatles, the dead, ben harper... wow, it's fantastic.
Great, great mix. Lotsa classics on this one! I'm listening to that Dylan song a lot these days!
