Man, I'm so in love with music right now! I just saw X on their reunion tour this past weekend AND I got to meet Exene Cervenka! How amazing is that! That was probably the most fun I had at a concert ever! Next week I'm going to go see the White Stripes live! I still can't believe they're coming through my hometown where big names like that rarely come though.

Later on in the summer, I'm going to go see Rilo Kiley live which I'm excited about. I can't stop listening to Rilo Kiley's album. It's one of the best I've heard in a while.

I would have put the !!! single "Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story)" on this mix but I was finished with this mix long before the single was released! Believe me, that is THE song of the year for the underground!

Also, I discovered the Vexers after I was finished with this mix but they're sooo good! I'm totally loving this post-punk revival! The Mars Volta full length album should be amazing, too!

Oh yeah, the title comes from an anthropological concept about European colonizers in Africa, which I've just learned in class. History is an ugly, ugly picture but this is the kind of idea that goes through my while I'm shaking my ass to this mix. Later-uhs! By the way, the picture is one of the most notorious African coloinzers, Cecil Rhodes. A true man to hate if you ask me. Man, colonization was the one of the most horrendous events in history! Look it up folks.
