Comment:

this is the sorta stuff im listening to at the moment. it reflects how i feel but not who i am. and the reason im posting it? well i guess its an ego thing. the reality is, or rather, my theory is, what we listen to is a determination of external factors, of who we want to be and of who we want to be seen as. not who we really are. and so, no doubt as u scroll through the above track list, u'll paint some picture in your mind of who i really am, whether consciously or not. the question u have to ask is, r u guiding the paintbrush? or am i? or do neither of us have any real inclination? why do u post? and why do u comment? why do u listen to what u do? and does the fact that im listening to the above songs at the moment mean something, anything?! please tell me. id love to know.
by the way, i thought punch-drunk love was a great film. how bout u?

For starters, I haven't seen PDL, but I've heard it's a great flick. As for your whole philosophy, I like your idea that music reflects not who we are, but who we want to be (or who we want others to think we are.) However, it isn't always true. The mixes that I post (I can't speak for everyone, so I'll stick with me) are stuff that I want to hear, even when the mixes are for other people. I'm not trying to score points, I'm just throwing myself out there + hoping for the best. Out... for now.

Yeah, I loved punch drunk love as well. but i also agree with DRU a lot more than you. When i listen to music, and I might be really strange, I let the music take control of my body and my mind and let it direct me to where ever it wants. I do not listen to music to impress other people or make an image. I think that is an abuse of the oratory pleasure of music, and an insult to many musicians who make music for the music and not for the "scene points". But I must say that I do like your music choices and if they do reflect your true personality and not the personality you wish to project, I like you.
