Comment:

I found a whole stash of old cassette mixes, so I'm entering them in. Can you tell I dug this tape out of my archives? Still fun to listen to, though. The original idea was to have the sad songs on one side and the happy love songs on the other... but then I realized that "love songs" are a lot more complex than that. Good ones, anyway. :-P (Give me a break; I *was* a teenager.) So the first side starts with love lost, mourns, reflects on it, then fumbles towards ecstasy on the second side, which is at first relentlessly cheerful about the whole affair, then starts wondering, but ends on an upbeat note.

I like it...much better than the usual mushy-love-song mix ya see posted sometimes. I've always thought Preacher Man was one of the best songs ever, so anytime that's on a mix I turn biased.

By the way, after reading that you found a bunch of old mixes, I wanted to thank ya. Ofetn when people stumble across ten old mixes they post 'em all on one day. Thanks for showing some restraint.

Cheers!
