Comment:

A mix my daughter Xuxu and I made together. She picked the songs and I put em on the disc. She's 4 - and knows what she likes! This is a collection of songs that she'll sing along to when I play them, so I thought I'd put this together for her. Thanks to Ion for the Starjets song and to Kim for the Bevis Frond.

A 4 year-old Arthur Lee fan? Wow. There's a lot of nice stuff here, I really like the Belle and Sebastian pick too. I wonder what it says about the state of this site when a four year-old makes one of the best looking mixes I've seen in the past few days.

I think we got our youngest mix of the week recipient right here! (although I'm sure her mom has to get some credit) As a personal friend of Xuxu, I know she's crazy about good music. This mix is testament to that. Hope to see more from her.

Really great stuff, Sue. One of the great things about being a parent (and a music geek) is that a lot of cool stuff filters down to the kids. It's always interesting to see the stuff that they like. I'm hoping to do something similar for my Maggie in the future here.

Hey I'm not sure that Shawns right 'cos my kids (5 & 9) are not that keen about music at all, they always complain about that i play music all the time, my youngest only like Elvis but he prefer playstation ;), BTW I can see that your kid really dig your stuff, COOL

Viva Xuxu..!!! We're big fans of "Alone Again Or", in any version, here. The Monkees, the Byrds, Archies, Left Banke.....well, it's a credit to her mother---because Xuxu had to hear it somehwere for the first time (and I'm guessing it wasn't the radio constantly playing stuff like this.)

Well Sue, tired of reading comments yet? This reminds me an awful lot of music between my dad and I when I was young. He was a delivery driver for Pepsi at the time, and used to drive me to school in his Pepsi Truck. The radio was ALWAYS on, and we'd both sing along to songs of the day (early 80's) and whatever oldies came on. I do agree with Shawn, one of the best ways to get kids into music is to play it a lot for them. It's just like increasing their knowledge by reading to them, and surprising how far it can go.

Cheers, and Great Job!

Your daughter likes the 'Mats, the Byrds, Love, the Beach Boys, the Beatles, and Belle and Sebastian? I'm very impressed. My nieces only listen to MTV crap. Congratulations on educating your daughter about great music.
