Comment:
Gelball here with installment #5 ( I've forsaken the big greezy pompadour and ducktail, for the summer, in favour of a tall flat top that won't melt and run down my neck). You may be wondering why all these rockabilly installments are labelled mixed genre... well , at first I just plum forgot about selecting one but now , after making several volumes I find I can't select one and it's not just as simple as deciding between Rock or Country. Rockabilly truly inhabits a weird limbo between all genres of the time, rock and country, blues and jazz (swing), western swing , folk, bluegrass... I can hear it all in there. This ones for the ladies and thats my great aunt Laverne in the photog , me too, resplendent in Goodyear wifebeater and cowboy boots...a good sense of fashion even at a young age. Story has it Laverne used to come to town and stay at my Grandmothers house, when everyone was out for the day she would call up used car salesmen and say she was interested in a car but couldn't get out to the lot, could someone drive one out to the house so she could see it, she would then proceed to have the guy driving her all over town, even picking up booze and going to parties...

Feedback:
looks tremendous. Hurry up and get a burner please! real nice work on one of my favourite genres
Go, Laverne!
Nice. Again.
I can hear 'em all too Grease. After all, what's rockabilly but the coupling of various country genres and the blues? I mean, look at Elvis's first single: That's All Right Mama / Blue Moon of Kentucky. And rock is rockabilly's stepchild. Family values indeed! Got your tapes by the way. Just got back from a short vacation, so I haven't listened to them all, but I love what I've heard. Keep 'em comin'!!
Man o Man... tons o' tunes I've never heard, and yet somehow can't live without. Put it on the pile, chief.
how do you breakdance with big hair?
Britney's comments just keep getting "funnier". Hey Grease - sorry to be outta touch. Yeah, I recommend going to see the Cynics. Michael's still got a great voice and Gregg has one of the best guitar sounds in history. They still rock a whole lot. I think you'll love them.
jesus... i can't know more than five of these bands... i would love a copy of this, although i'm afraid your mix tastes might be a bit different than mine... check it out!
holy cow, this is awesome.
forgot to mention that the Ronnie Dio on side two and Ronnie of Ronnie and the Red Caps is actually the Ronnie James Dio, Grandfather of Heavy Metal.
thanks for the compliment sean! my breakdancing crew will get a big kick out of it because they always say I'm sooooooooo funny! keep breakin'!
