Comment:
This is a chronological compilation of the most infuential songs and artists of hip hop, beginning with the first rap put on record by the Fatback Band in August of 1979, followed by the song that put rap on the map, "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang. Kurtis Blow was the first rapper to sign with a major label, and "Rapture" by Blondie was the first song in the popular charts to feature rapping.
