Comment:
mix of old and new (mainly new). thanks to dayvid and sarah for recommending camera obscura and the beautiful few. when sarah asked (in the shop) 'do you like belle and sebastian?' i didn't even have to hear the cd first, as i totally trust her picks. this mix is also to give praise to lou barlow, who gave an awesome show here a week or so back (and then sold his 'loubiecore' cd for only $10 aus! - that's like $7 us!) and to the upcoming shows by dcfc and the mountain goats. interpol are coming too - but only the eastern states! bugger. title courtesy of camera obscura.Feedback:
Beautiful Few ? thanks for the tips, this mix looks great as always Sue, Always nice to get something new to check out
peter, for beautiful few info, check out 'thebeautifulfew.net' - they're from melbourne. i'll put aside a copy of this mix for you.
Really strong here SueEW..! Especially the stretch 3-5,8,11 & 12, and the ending run of 14-16.....don't know the rest, but will give the Beautiful Few a look-see at their web site. (Again, like Radiohead, I may be one of the few who haven't caught up to/heard the Delgados....a friend badgers me about this, along with Coldplay...I'm a happy guy though.)
Very nice stuff here, Sue. Great Mountain Goats pick, and the Lips one is top notch too. Quality stuff.
cool
Nice to see that you're putting that CD burner to good use. Nice to see Pale Fountains, Ride and that funny Camera Obscura song. Is that the Stone Roses that DCFC are covering? Haven't heard it.
lovely
ooocamera obscura. & the rest. yay.
here can be found a beautiful few... lou, interpol, goats, and lips picks are all excellent. i'll have to check out camera obscura and the aforementioned few. nice work!
Ion: the DCFC is indeed a cover of the Roses. It appears on the "yeti, no 2" fanzine, a US zine, which I purchased a few months back. It contains lots of covers, including "peng" done by Iron & Wine. And a fine job at that.
Great mix, Sue. I especially like the Idlewild, Delgados, and Ride picks.
this is a winner! i bet dayv's told you already he is going to see interpol? how lucky. did you see tamas wells?! that was one of my favourite gigs this year...he was just so, beautiful. i say yay to all of these picks though i don't know pale fountains.
hello! how are you going? i was just doing a search for gersey and i found that you and i and my friend are the only people who use their songs. that's all. :-) nice mix, i dig the flaming lips to high heaven!! ( i saw them just a few days ago, awesome stuff...)
