Comment:
Yesterday, I heard 'Another One Bites The Dust' on the radio and started thinking about songs that feature instantly recognizable bass lines. I'm sure there are many that I haven't thought of--any other ideas would be great.Feedback:
Great mix. As a bass player, I appreciate this. Some suggestions:
Tommy James - "I Think We're Alone Now"
Pearl Jame - "W.M.A."
Fleetwood Mac - "The Chain"

Oh, this is good. Extra points for the "Barney Miller" theme. Man alive, I love that show.
don't forget some Queens of the Stone Age...Nick Oliveri ROCKS THE BASS
Great concept for a mix!! Here is one more suggestion: "Supremes, "You Can't Hurry Love." It is from the same era as Temptations, "My Girl," and possibly the same Motown session bass player, but who knows...
I have to agree, it's a wonderful idea for a mix! Great songs, but could I take the time to recommend "A Forest" by the Cure? It's quite possibly their most bass-heavy song.
The Pixies "Gigantic." I think almost anyone who lived through the past 15 years knows that bassline, even if they don't know the band.
cool mix idea. i vote for:
liquid liquid "cavern"
b-52's "rock lobster"

oh! and fugazi's "waiting room." totalment.
Looked here again after seeing John's request. It's one of the best mixes posted here in 2003. By the way I see that I was out to lunch in that comment I posted last year - obviously both those songs had bass lines by James Jamerson.
