Comment:
This was made for my brother, who requested the Black Heart Procession and the first Magnetic Fields song. He wanted "songs that are goofy like [the Magnetic Fields song] that I can't find", so I tried to oblige him, through amusing bits in the music or vocal technique ("Do You Realize," "Oogum Boogum Song") or lyrics ("Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits," "Effervescing Elephant"). I tried to make the Black Heart Procession transition as harsh as possible, since that song goes with virtually nothing else on this CD, and then by the end I wanted to throw some songs in that would make him calmer and/or depressed (since I'm his beloved older sister who is moving 550 miles away and I want him to miss me, dammit).Feedback:
This is tremendous. Good job!
I changed it around; after listening to it last night I realized the James Brown worked much better between the Beulah and Clinic than it did between the New Pornographers and Magnetic Fields. Oh well, my brother gets the initial version. :)
