Comment:
i turned 28 yesterday. it got me thinking, as usual, about my dying youth, the rain that threatened to keep me from going for a run. so, what better way to celebrate getting older than to make a mix that wallows in the days i was a bit dramatic, thought i was so cool. and had a bit more money. ah, the mid '90s. britpop was the reason i fell in love with music, obsessed over it, started buying records. before i discovered suede (and britpop), i'd really only fallen in love with this dyed redhead singer/songwriter who played piano. loud guitars scared me, but, as this mix shows, i discovered they weren't all bad, afterall. my fascination with these crazy 'boys & girls,' this sound, started around the time i was a senior in high school, and continued on until... i suppose i should go watch 'trainspotting' now, eh?Feedback:
i love shamelessly '90s anglocentric mixes. oh i do.
brings back memories...
oh, for the days when the stereophonics were still good. and oasis, for that matter. great mix!
Looks great lover boy. I know that early to mid 90s Britpop will always hold a special place in my aging heart.
I linked in on this from a Kenickie search, but Geneva! Linoleum! Theaudience! Suede when they were relevant! Pure class.
