Comment:

Well, here's the story: my dad died early this morning, about 3:00 at the age of 61. He had been sick for nine months. This CD, which we're going to play at Dad's viewing is, for the most part, filled with music that he loved, along with a few songs that he probably would have liked that express how my mom, sister and I are feeling right now. I may write more about this CD, and my dad, on my website (http://marimbadog.easyjournal.com) in the coming days. He was a very cool guy, and he had excellent taste in music-I learned a lot from him. Incidentally, the Seldom Scene was/is a bluegrass band Dad liked very much. All Seldom Scene tracks are from an album called Old Train that came out in 1974. Personally, I think a copy of Old Train should be in every home. Thanks, Dad!

Sorry about your loss, Rich. My dad died about nine months ago at more or less the same age. So I kinda know what you must be going through. My heart goes out to you.

I am sorry for your loss. It's tough for a son to lose a dad. When my dad passed away, some
18 years ago, I dug out my Steve Goodman album (which I can't locate anymore) and played
My Old Man (links to the lyrics),
which makes me cry to this day. I never put it on a tape or CD...but it's a great tribute to
Dads. I wish you well in the coming weeks & months.
