Comment:
Yeah, I know the Guster track is out of place on this mix but I wanted to hear that song ASAP, and so it ended up here. This mix is my Summer, 2003 groove mix. I spent this whole summer cooped up in my apartment fretting about the war in Iraq, class warfare, SARS, and whatever the paper was reporting on that day. The "News Of The Weird" column in the local weekly fueled my black humor but it also, unfortunately contributed to my bad dreams about the inane, stupid ways that humans can kill themselves. I just hope that I don't end up in the "News of The Weird," although I think I'm well on my way to becoming a hermit what with all the incomprehensible strife all around the globe. You don't have to read too much into this to know that I was against this war and all wars for that matter. Some wars are necessary but blowing people up is never justified. It's 2003 and I can't believe we haven't come up with a way for problems to be resolved in manner which doesn't involve millions of civilians. Let the "leaders" duke it out amongst each other. Besides this war fueling my existential anxiety, I also have been having this terrible image in my head of the planet falling from it's place in the galaxy into the dark void of space. I mean literally falling like through a trap door. These thoughts don't make for happy times people so at least enjoy the spectacular music that came out this summer and year!Feedback:
fun mix. i like the elefant track.
some good stuff.
Nice mix and text. XTC's "This World Over" would have worked well in light of the comments. Nice selections from Os Mutantes, Chicks on Speed and Kaito.
