Comment:

The title is a little misleading as these are actually some of the best songs of the last twenty years. This mix is in celebration of the fact that I am closing in on my 20th birthday, with a track released in each year since that of my birth (1983).

This mix was a hard one to put together, partly because I don't like much "80's" music, and partly because of the chronological issues. Preference was given to my favorite bands and albums (no one-hit wonders). For some reason I didn't have any good albums from 1992 so I had to pick a song from Eric's Trip that was released before their debut full length.

The mix starts raw and unpolished, mainly because most of the first tracks are from the debut albums of bands that became more popular later. Starting with Nirvana the mix drifts into the "Alternative" bands which became the mainstream thanks to, you guessed it, Nirvana. Toward the end the focus shifts to the Indie/Underground side of things as mainstream music becomes crappier (most clearly designated by the rise of Limp Bizkit). The length is just over 73 minutes.

Also, if you are confused (as I was) by the fact that there are 21 tracks instead of 20, try not to think about it to avoid having your head explode (although I think it has something to do with the fencepost problem or whatever).
