Comment:

Okay, so heres the story:

This is my first mix with a purpose. It goes like this: I am very close friends with a girl named Julia, hence the Beatles Song, and I want it to become something more. On her birthday, this mixtape along dinner, hopefully, will help persuade her.

Now: Since this is my first mixtape, I want suggestions and criticisms. What songs do you think don't work? What songs would you add? What ordering would you Change, all that jazz. I'd love all the feeback I can get. Thanks.

EDIT:

I just realized I forgot an appropriate song:

This is what I did.

I moved wishlist and waste up so that they follow julia in that order, then I moved sweet mistaked behind them so it precedes damn I wish I was your lover. I also took off the NERD song in order to add "I would walk 500 miles by the proclaimers directly after "To be with you" by mr. big.

you might wanna reconsider the j5 song.. though it is a great tune, its more about trying to not fall in love with your friends, which i dont think is what you want. personally, i would replace it with either "the woman with the tattooed hands" or "modern man's hustle" by atmosphere. the tattooed hand one is very poetic, and girls usually seem to like it a lot. modern man's hustle is a very sweet and heartfelt song, but if you use it you might want to cut out the intro, where he's talking about his girl being a "sexy little bitch"

I always thought that "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" was a break-up song. (?) perhaps not. okay. my suggestions? jeff buckley's "I want someone badly" always does the trick, and the same goes for "I won't spend another night alone" by the ataris. the last mix I posted was a romantic "message" type cd, so I'd suggest any of the songs I had listed. best of luck to you, looks like this was a solid effort!

I was thinking don't think twice it's all right in the sort of "whatever your decision is, in the end, is good with me" kind of feel, but i'm definitely going to go over the lyrics and see. I was looking for a Jeff Buckley song, so thanks.

Yeah, I second the vote to remove "Don't think twice," at least from the final position! It sounds like a FUCK YOU. That is my opinion, as both a female and a Dylan junkie. :) My vote for an alternative yet similar (popular, accessible) Dylan song would be the closer on Nashville Skyline, "Tonight I'll be Staying Here with you."

Mix looks great! :) Good luck

I looked over the lyrics of don't think twice and agree. I'm thinking Of replacing "Thin Line" With Common's "The Light", opinions?

Mst of it seems quite obvious (Damn I wish I was your lover - though i don't even know the song). 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps' is a great choice though.
