Comment:

a week from today i'm throwing a robot party. we need music, so i figured i'd make one. i haven't burned it yet, so suggestions are very welcome. it's basically comprised of songs about robots, or songs i think that robots would like. that is also the premise of the party.

You want robot songs you can go to anything by Kraftwerk or pick up the Pulsars album which has a few loving odes to robots. And if I were a robot I think I'd fond of Gary Numan's entire catalog, but especially Replicas. And Dazz Band's "Let It Whip" sounds like it would fit at home at a robot funk party. How 'bout the vocoder songs off of Neil Young's Trans album? And what about that Herbie Hancock song...I'll stop right now, I'm getting worked up. Great TMBG pick by the way. "Intergalactic" by the Beasties? What about... - must - hit - SUBMIT...

dale - TIP has the right idea... there's a definite dearth of kraftwerk on here. i say go for "the robots", or the german version for extra geek points. also, there's a lot of robot-related hair metal out there... try the scorpions' "robot man" or voivod's "rebel robot". and of course, there's always guided by voices' "gold star for robot boy". and yay on the princess superstar and james kochalka suggestions... (isn't the short film super?)

These days, I just can't seem to make a tape without including My Robot Friend. This does kick some robot butt though.
