A song from the last record you bought.
A blues: not a necessarily a blues record but a song that is labelled (something) blues.
A song that gets you going in the morning.
A song that you think is romantic.
One of the earliest records that you can remember listening to.
A song that you discovered from a film.
A song from your favorite band/artist.
A song from a band/artist you otherwise don't like, but like this one.
A Lullaby.
A song that makes you laugh/you find funny.
A really good cover version.
A song that reminds you of school days.
A song from an artist you're embarrassed to admit you like.
Whatever it is, it's got to be funky.
A song for those quiet, rainy days.
A song that, no matter when you hear it, it makes you feel good.
A song with the word 'Look' in the title.
From a member of the 'Dead Rockers Society.'
Your favourite Elvis song.
Wild card - Hey, just put any song you like on!

Comment:

Well, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the "Frankenstein mix" trend. I find these fun as I often pick songs I may not have thought of. Certainly jogs the mind. I went track by track, in order, and all songs were chosen according to flow. Couple of notes: (1) "The Tide Is High" was the first 7" single I ever owned. (2) It certainly felt liberating including an obscure song like "Run For Your Life." It just worked really well coming out of "Here Comes My Baby." Plus it ties in beautifully with its Rutles counterpart "It's Looking Good," which appears later on the disc. (I swear I didn't design it that way...it just kinda happened). (3) Track 10 was nearly The B-52s' "Dance This Mess Around"...but "In Love" just worked too well. (This has to be the umpteenth time I've used "In Love" on a mix CD...I can't get enough of it). (4) No song reminds me more of high school than "Cannonball." (5) You don't know how much crap I take for owning two Iron Butterfly discs. (6) Felt good including some Jimi...hadn't listened to him in quite a while. Put on "Voodoo Chile" this evening and it absolutely blew all the other Jimi contenders I'd picked out of the water. (7) "Riot Act" isn't necessarily my utmost fave Costello song, but I think it is one of my top faves and...frankly...it's just a song I needed to hear right now. 'nuff said. On a side note, not sure why the request for a lullaby is stuck in the middle of the disc. Hope you enjoy!

Looks pretty fine. Can't get behind you on any Cake pick, I'm afraid...
