Comment:
This mix comes from a conversation with fellow AOTM'er Michael Steinmetz. This is a mix with artists you used to like but have since been visited by the angel of suck. Mike posted his version of this mix yesterday. Check it out. This would really be a CD but I listed it as a cassette here. The first song of each grouping would be the good song and the second song is (obviously) the one that sucks. I'm sure not all of you will agree with my choices, but this is what I think and I'd love to hear comments from you. I'd love to see a mix following this theme from some of you guys as well. There are plenty of opinionated people who know way too much about music to pass this one by. Enjoy!Feedback:
Def. agree with the Aerosmith and Stones choices. What the hell happened. Another shitful Aerosmith song would be I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing. Damn that sucks.
Good call on "Shit-allica" I don't know how THAT one got by me, Not sure about the Crowes pick. Cheers!
Def. wise choice with Aerosmith and Pearl Jam (they suck like boybands), but I cannot agree with RHCP. By the wy is my favourite, though I like the old ones too.
I guess everyone's got their right to slag, eh? Pearl jam has long been a favourite band of mine, so part of me refuses to accept them on a list such as this. Then again, even I can admit that their current work (for the most part) can never match the grandeur of their early days. That's the funny thing about bands; people bitch when they evolve into something other than what they were. Anyways, the point is that despite including a few artists near + dear to my heart, I am fascinated by this concept. You pulled it off nicely, though I would disagree in many ways. Out.
I'm not bashing anyone for trying to make a buck. I'm simply pointing out that these's bands music is, in my opinion, not as good as it once was.
