Comment:
Well, if I really bought the concept of "chick flicks" and "chick mixes" this might have to go into that category. I mean, anything that has Carly Simon at all, much less singing about telling her father about losing her viriginity is a little ... female specific ... but Lowell George does play a nice slide on the cut and it is well-produced. The overall theme is a little bit lusty and romantic and a lot more sad. Hmmm ... sounds like life! Thanks for Geoff for the Buckley cut.And if you don't know it, Angi is a great guitar song. Renbourn does a fab version ...
Feedback:
Shit, I thought I did extensive credits on each track! Nice mix - I absolutely love cut #2 and any cover of it.
Yeah, Fortune Teller is a great song. After I posted it, I remembered that Naomi Neville wrote it. I'm sure she's related to those other Nevilles. The Iguanas did a nice slow and sexy version which I think i posted on something recently. Thanks!
Wire train, haven't thought about them in years. Excellent mix as ever. Love the Jorma, John Prine, Lena Horne and Al Green picks especially.
This looks beautiful, Sally. Feel free to send me five of any of the mixes that I've requested (on the mixes themselves). :-)
Lovely mix,Sally Anne. Special credit for john prine, john hammond, the Scotsman Davy Graham, and Jorma kaukonen.
Nice, especially all those folky, bluesy, souly picks.I confess I was never a big Davy Graham fan - I always found his playing kind of stilted (both on The Guitar Player & live). Anji-wise I have to admit a fondness for the Paul Simon version & I've heard Bert Jansch do a mean version too.
Very,very nice. Great picks.
i love this -- track 13 is a special favorite. how weird that we both put "she drives me crazy" on our latest mixes!
Truly delightful! Any mix with Carly catches my attention. Al, Lena, FYC and the Townshend song round it out nicely.
