Comment:

It was about time I made a 50's R&B/rock and roll mix again, and here it is. A few songs are from the early 60s (Gary US Bonds, Rivingtons). A few indulgent overplayed tunes like the Dion and Little Richard, but they were two of the first songs I ever enjoyed as a kid, and I've never put them on a mix tape before.
I had a little fun with the order, like putting the 2 school songs together, and some of the repetitive ones all in a row. Also, the "Shake Rattle & Roll" is answered by the Platters rare female vocal "Bark Battle and Ball". the Penguins "Hey Senorita" is a B-side of "Earth Angel" and has a nice Latin beat, rare for the time.
"The Ookey Ook" is included because it was one of Frank Zappa's favorite songs, and I tracked it down for years. It's a fun song- back when the beat and a good time was all that mattered. Parallel fourths forever!

Marvellous. I love 'Earth Angel' (okay, it's not on here, but you mentioned it) but you can't get it in England, it's really rare.
