Comment:

mid-dec. 2003 -- Jordan can't play tapes, so a CD version of this year's winter mix. Because it is a winter mix, despite a rather strong showing from Christmas songs. "Winter" is what allows me to spread my sick love for Led Zeppelin, whom I just can't bear to make a mix without...they "come from the land of the ice and snow," after all. "Hey Ya!" has nothing to do with winter, cold or Christmas, but what could be a gladder tiding than this top 40 miracle?!

Actually, quite bizarre, Hey Ya! reminds me of winter... my friends and I used to skid about on the ice in the jeep while grooving and shouting to it. Oh, sweet Minneapolis winters.

Even excluding that, it's a great piece of work. Love Girl From the North Country. Especially love it when Johnny Cash joins in, too.

Marvelous!
