i'm sick of music today. i'm sick of pretentious indie rockers. i'm sick of neo-soul and neo-garage and the "new wave of new wave." i'm sick of overhyped bands that fail to deliver. i'm sick of reading the same article about the strokes in spin magazine each month. i'm sick of bands who make careers out of removing the barely-beating heart from joy division's music. i'm sick of ryan adams, who was once the most promising songwriter around, becoming a fame-obsessed parody of his roots. i'm sick of music systematically losing its soul.
